Agire il limite
2025

This work is part of the artist's book Agire il limite (Acting on the boundary), conceived and created by Valentina Prina, Gaia Sirio and me. The project was developed during Professor Ilaria Turba's Visual Culture course in collaboration with Sara Bianchi and Andrea Notari at the CFP Bauer. The project is among the ten most voted projects of the Fanzine Review Award, a competition linked to the Photography Books and Zine review event promoted by the Italian Institute of Photography.

Once opened, how does it heal?
The skin is the space that limits our body, our existence in the world and our internal/external dialogue. Sometimes this space is opened up by cuts and burns, which then become scars. This work explores the action of suturing and healing a gash in the skin, a temporary opening of our boundary.

Agire il limite analyses the boundaries of the body and space, in a reciprocal relationship that also marks the permanent or temporary transformation of the former. The common denominator is the action that the body performs in occupying and experiencing space. Each chapter can be summarised with a different verb: transform, envelop and enclose.
